GOODBYE ROCKY

 

This is a poem I wrote in September 2023 when a friend lost her dog.

ROCKY
 

For the love you gave me, I am at peace. 

For the love you gave me, I am at ease.
You cared for me for all these years
It was time for me to leave you there.
 

When I was a puppy you saved me, dear, 

And gave me a life that many dare.
For all these years you were my mom
The one I left when you picked me up.

Not many of us have the love and care
You gave me and that’s the truth, my dear.
 

It’s time for me to fly so high
And find my mom on the other side
There’s so much fun in doing that!

My soul has a light that illuminates my path...
I feel so light and have so much fun!

Don’t cry for me, I am feeling free!
